There’s a definite issue with continuity between the first book and this one. It made for quite the confusion until I finally had to just let some things go. That is a serious deterrent from enjoying a book. Add to that a copious amount of typos and the wrong words typed into sentences (or left out) and it decidedly lessened the reader’s experience from what it could be.So, why did I give it 4 stars? Because overall, it really is still that good. In fact, aside from the “epilogue” being a mere short scene that was more like a random piece to heighten a cliffhanger type feeling (it did the opposite), the bulk of the second part of the book was as great as the first book. I do hope that the next book brings Alice some character development though because this book highlighted her tendency to not learn from her mistakes, not take responsibility for her mistakes, and continue to assume that she knows better than everyone else despite the inevitable “oops” moment that follows.
