Although I’m not one to read YA usually, I jumped right in and I couldn’t put it down. As the cool kids would say, The book gave me “all the feels”: yearning, nostalgia, laughter, joy, yearning, pride, and hunger for more. More action. More texts! More stories. More shifts! And the slow nod and smile with the closing of the book after the last page had been turned. This is definitely going to be a book I read every summer, I should actually see if there’s an Audiobook version… I’m in the medical field but not a paramedic, so I suppose I’m the intended audience, and I must say: she gets it, she’s lived it. The jargon explanations flowed easily to where someone not involved in field work isn’t lost or jarred. I can feel the humidity and heat from Miami as Cate steps out of the testing area. I sense the depth behind Adrian’s eyes.Definitely a page turner and a conversation starter. If you could go back to that one summer…that ONE summer that changed you and defined you, would you? Yes. You would You know you want to. Pick up the book and go back. All the Nostalgia sans the cliche angst.
