When I first heard there was going to be another Amy Plum book, excited didn’t even cover the emotions I was feeling. Then the cover was released, and I was blown away by the beauty of it! There was no way that I wasn’t going to read this book. While isn’t on the same level as her Revenants series, it is still a promising start to a new, original series. Ms. Plum’s story is a very original idea that is a bit confusing at the start, but gets better and better as it progresses. This isn’t a dystopian novel, but at the same time kind of is. You’ll understand why I say that after you read the book. However, this book is a outsider-looking-in type story with no insta-love. Can I get a resounding THANK YOU!!!The first couple of chapters of this book, you wonder what the heck is going on. But, that’s exactly the point! And while some people may not like this, it’s truly what keeps the story going as the reader and Juneau are in the same boat. You find things out as Juneau finds them out, and as a result, by the end of the book you feel more connected to her character. This is a non-stop adventure, and I loved seeing just how Juneau made her way to try to find her clan.
