This book was absolutely wonderful! While it is “dark romance” I would almost call it gray! *Always check the TW of course*I love the twist on a fairy tale and the pirates, it was so much better then I thought it could be, I have a small struggle with retelling! But this was great! I love the dual POV and how that lets you see behind the interactions especially for Ramsey in the first half of the book, if you only saw the interactions and not his POV it would be a lot harder to adore him! I really enjoyed the tension building and the connection these two have! And the resolution of the story is wonderful as well! I thoroughly enjoyed this book it is a definite re read!

Brief Summary of the Book

Karina Halle has retold the Little Mermaid and it is so so good. Better in fact—though decidedly for grownups (and read the TWs first please). Yes, KH excels at dark, gothic romance, and yes, this enemies to lovers story is hot. But it’s so much more. The characters and world building are so compelling, and who doesn’t love rooting for their faves of the many monsters? Also, this has some cross over with other worlds she built and I LOVED that. And our little mermaid is an angry, rage filled force. Gonna be dreaming about Captain Ramsay Bones Battista!
