I have liked each and every book I have read by Karen McManus and You’ll Be The Death of Me was no exception. In this book Ivy, Mateo and Cal were best friends in junior high but drifted apart. They are no seniors in High School, Ivy has lost the student council president election to the class clown and is not looking forward to his speech in assembly today. Mateo is just burnt out. He works 2 jobs to help his mother out. Cal has been stood up by his girlfriend. When they all arrive at school at the same time they decide to ditch and go into Boston and recreate “The Best Day Ever” But things don’t go according to plan when they stumble upon the dead body of one of their classmates. Not only do they find his body, but Ivy is now a person of interest in the murder. As they try and figure out who is responsible the secrets that they have been keeping from each other starts to tear them apart.
