The Silent Patient was quick to tell us what we needed to know. The main character is in a psychiatric ward after killing her husband and refusing to speak afterwards. You’d think that is a quick enough start to drive a reader to turn page after page. Not going to lie, I wasn’t that reader.It seemed to start too slow for me. I wanted to know more about Alicia and less about Theo, the man bent on saving her from herself. But it was necessary to get into the minds of all the characters pivotal to the story. Many of the characters were connected in some way or another due to events in the past or near past that brought them together in this story. Insignificant characters at the beginning of thr story became significant.
