The book has been written with many plot twists and turns, keeping the reader in suspense and on the edge of their seat. It is a real page turner that is filled with action and suspense. I have read the entire series and have enjoyed them thoroughly, highly recommend them to anyone who loves books about the supernatural and such.However, the writing style lacked a certain substance that made the bulk of the text feel slightly weak. For me, it did not have a great backbone of a story. I also thought that a few of the characters weren’t explained well and they felt partially underdeveloped. On the otherhand, the cross cutting between characters to get other viewpoints on events was a wonderful idea; it really kept me engaged. Was slightly disappointed by the ending (last book), felt predictable and thought McKenzie could have adapted it to a cliffhanger – letting us decide what happened after the series ended.
