This story is about Emily Atkinson. A rich woman with a very complicated life. She is an alcoholic who collapses on the street. When she wakes in the hospital she is told she has a heart condition and that she is pregnant. She tells the doctors that she isn’t sure who is the father. She is befriended by Betsey Brown, a surgical nurse. Who is also pregnant. Betsey tries to help Emily get sober and live a more healthy lifestyle.
