Brief Summary of The Last Kingdom

Cotton Malone is back, along with a guy we’ve met previously, Luke Daniels. The Last Kingdom takes place in the Bavarian region of Germany in 1881 and King Ludwig II is contemplating a place where he can be a king in peace. The question is, does this last kingdom really exist? Did Ludwig find an island somewhere to fulfill his dreams? Berry takes us on a journey of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat with every page turn. As the tension mounts, we find that Malone and Daniels are not the only ones interested in paperwork proving there really is a lost kingdom, and this turn of events leads to some very dicey incidents in which gunfire is exchanged, people die, others are keeping one step ahead of everyone else and the reader is left wondering just how this conundrum will be resolved. There is action galore, interesting characters, fascinating descriptions of old castles and, of course, we learn more about Cotton’s history. Even after so many books, Berry certainly has not lost his touch when it comes to combining history with mystery. You won’t want to miss reading this one
