The story follows Vivi and Rhys, exes from nine years prior. Because of this, we get to see enemies to lovers and a second chance romance. Both Vivi and Rhys are witches/warlocks, and after a summer together while doing a summer term at the university in a town founded by Rhys’ family, Rhys’ father demanded he go back home because he was lining him up to be married. Aka a reaaaally bad breakup. Every so often the town puts on a founders festival around Halloween and because it was a big anniversary, someone from Rhys’ family must attend and his father chooses him. Except, Vivi may have cursed Rhys after getting drunk after their breakup (but truly thought she hadn’t because it was a joke with her and her cousin Gwyn). So now, not only do they have to see one another, they have to work together to remove the curse because it starts to take over the entire town.
