Carrie Padgett and Rachel Hauck have done a fine job with this book. I loved the characters and the story and, of course, Heart’s Bend. Chloe LaRue resonated with me as she tried to figure out how to move on after her husband died unexpectedly. She comes home to Hearts Bend Tennessee from France after learning her mother has cancer. She has the opportunity to put her acclaimed pastry-making skills to good use to manage a local bakery . . . a bakery her former friend-turned-NFL-player has just purchased.Sam Hardy would be happy to never go back home. But when his business partner purchases a bakery in Heart’s Bend, Tennessee, and Sam needs physical therapy for an ACL injury, Heart’s Bend is where he’ll be. As he spends time with his old friend, Chloe, helping out in the bakery, he begins to see her as more than a friend. He also must come to terms with some broken relationships in his life.
