Four years ago the body Mr. Larkin, a beloved teacher at Saint Ambrose school, was found by 3 eight grade students (Tripp, Shane and Charlette). Though Shane’s fingerprints were on the rock that was used to kill Mr. Larkin, all 3 students gave the same story that they just found the body and that Shane picked up the rock without even thinking. It was thought that it must have been a drifter that killed Mr. Larkin and the case was never solved. Brynn Gallagher was also a student at the school at the time, but then her father’s job was relocated to Chicago. Brynn wants nothing more than to be a reporter and she was the editor and chief of her school paper in Chicago. But now her family has moved back to Sturgis, Massachusetts. Brynn applies and is accepted as an intern on a popular true-crime show called “Motive” and she is excited when she pitches the unsolved murder of Mr. Larkin as a segment for the show and it is accepted. As Brynn starts investigating what really happened four years ago she uncovers a lot of secrets and stirs up a hornet’s nest.
