Brief Summary Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult

As expected this is a wonderful story by talented writers Jodi and Jennifer,full of fascinating information about transgender people. It also explains a lot about what it means to feel that you were born in the wrong body in a most compassionate way. I thought of giving it four stars and I deliberated long and hard to decide finally on five. My problem was the way the story switched back and forth in time, which at times confused me and frustrated me as I was obliged to go back to check which date- time I was reading. This is harder to do on Kindle than in the actual book. Then again this may be just me becoming confused as an old lady and may not be as confusing to any other reader. I perfectly understand, however, the authors’ reasoning and I ended the book with regret at letting go of these characters who had, for the last week, been so real to me and had almost become a part of my life. Had anyone told me before I read this book that I would buy a book with a transgender girl as the main character, I would have found it highly unlikely and would have told them so. By the end of the book, however,I was humbled to realize my ignorance on the subject and how biased I had been. An eye-opener since I pride myself that I am tolerant and open-minded.
