Sadie Brown is pushed into a singing career by her parents. Her parennts decided she needed a more glitzie name calling her Eliza Monroe, who is very succesful, but feeling trapped in a gilded cage and losing her real me, Sadie. Having to shoot another video and not being able to act like everyone expects her to do Sadie finally flees into the woods, wanting to leave Eliza Monroe’s life behind her. Griffin is a lumberjack, felling trees with his axe, liking it traditional, in Wildwood forest. He used to be a sheriff. He calls out Timber, also he is pretty sure noone is there, when suddenly he springs into action to save a woman, looking like an angel in a torn up wedding dress. Luckily Griffin saved her from the worst, but her knee got hurt by a branch. She does not want a doctor, so Grffin accepts her vague answers and takes her back to his log cabin. He is immediately attracted to his angel. Sadie is also intrigued by him and enjoying that he does not recognize her. While there is a connection between them and she trusts him, she is reluctant to reveal her story. He also has a story to tell, being a retired sheriff at such a young age and living a recluse life in the woods, He is also determined to protect his angel. Somehow this story has a fairytale theme or feeling to ir. Sadie thinking of snow white when fleeing into the woods, who are somehow a little magical. I enjoy the writing style, story and charcters. It is really captivating and hard to put down. The charcters have depth to them.

Brief Summary of the Book

Part of the Crave County Wildwood Forest series we met the retired grumpy law enforcement officer and the women who helps him change his ways. Griffin a sexy all get out grumpy, overly protective reclusive who has seen a lot to make him reconsider being around people but deep down he is sad and lonely until he meets a woman who splashes a lot of color into his gray world. Sadie a famous pop star who dreams of living a simple life, a life without the pressures of being famous, craves a quiet life and most of all tired being controlled, manipulated by everyone around her having no control over her own life. So, she decides to take control of her own life to try and have some normalcy her way so running away from it all seems to be her only choice at the time and meeting a man who changes her path in a good way wasn’t on her list. The moment these two meet the attraction is turned all the way up she helps him see that there is so much more to life then living as an extreme reclusive and she finds the quiet she has been looking for both balancing the other making each other feel alive again but what happens when her life catches up with her, will she remain control or will she allow them to pressure her back onto the roller coaster she called life, will he be the strength she needs, and can they find the balance that will lea them to happiness?.
