Enticing The Earl is the second book in the When The Wallflowers Were Wicked series by Daphne Quinn. I was instantly captivated by Ensnaring The Duke, and Enticing The Earl moved the bar of excellence higher. Juliet is a wallflower trying hard to appease her parents by gaining a perfect marriage to compensate for her twin’s scandal. Juliet is clumsy and shy. I loved Juliet’s kindness; she showcased an inner strength combined with her inner beauty. Juliet was an elegant lady that showed brightly even when she couldn’t see it. Owen prides himself on being a successful, independent Earl. Owen sees no reason to marry soon. His world is turned upside down when he meets Juliet. Her sharp wit and clumsiness endear Owen, and he thinks marriage might not be so bad after all. I loved the back-and-forth banter between Owen and Juliet. The development of their romance was engaging, and I was glued to the page. The plot was eye-catching. The characters were flawed and beautiful, giving an organic flow to the novel. I instantly enjoyed Daphne Quinn when I read Ensnaring The Duke, and Enticing The Earl solidified her place in my favorite authors list. Daphne Quinn weaves an engrossing, poetic romance that captured my heart on the first page! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author. Brief Summary of the Book

This is a fun story; Lady Juliet is the daughter of a Duke. Her mother, the Duchesses wanted her daughters to make excellent matches yet neither have. At a house party given by a friend of her mother’s friend the Dowager Duchesses. She falls at the feet of The Earl of Stourton, Owen and the Duke of Worthing, Oliver! Her mother is shocked as they are already late after being robbed on the way there. At the time Juliet thought it was easier to be robbed than make her way through a ball with lots of gentlemen trying to talk and dance with her. She is shy and easily over come around strangers. Which is why both her and her twin Harriet are wallflowers. Owen only wanted to help Juliet after seeing her fall, but she takes what he said the wrong way and snaps at him. He is intrigued by her, and she can’t figure out why she keeps thinking about him. Owen has been the Earl since he was fifteen and very comfortable in his role. Then he receives a mysterious letter and his life changes. He is shocked by what he is told. When attending a ball for his aunt he runs into Juliet again. Juliet knows something is wrong and seeks him out. With the mystery behind the letter, someone out to ruin his good name Owen knows he must keep Juliet away, so she is not hurt. He underestimates Juliet and how she is starting to feel toward him. This is a great read with the witty banter between them, their growing feelings, evil underfoot and a kidnapping too. So much is going on. I have not read the first book but am going too now. All and all a great book. I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it.
