Brief Summary Engaging the Earl by Mindy Burbidge Strunk

I really loved this story. I think it may be my favourite I’ve read from this author. I’m looking forward to more in this series and seeing more of all the supporting characters from this story. There’s great promise for future stories from this group of friends who want to stay bachelors. There are some fantastic scenes with romantic tension and intensity. (The theatre scene is killer, in the best way.) The author takes some liberties with the socially acceptable behaviours and propriety from the era, but she makes note of it being a deliberate choice in the author notes, which is something I appreciate from an author. Some of the best parts of the story would not have been the same if the author hadn’t bent the social practices. There were a couple other details I question, but even if they aren’t accurate, they don’t really affect the story or the enjoyment.
