I am completely shocked that I did not hear more about this book earlier because it honestly was a superb book exploring many themes; one of them being my favorite and that is being a psychological thriller. The writer gives our main protagonist, Olenka such a full narrative voice from her life growing up and creating herself in the times of post-Soviet Independence in Ukraine. It is a book of lies, deceit and betrayal but only as a means to make it in the career Olenka has found herself thriving in. That world is risky a business and it involves finding young girls that fit a specific mold that would become part of an egg donor program that has been set up for couples who are looking for the looks, smarts and perfect background in which to curate an egg and have it artificially implanted with their husbands sperm to form a flawless baby and family.
