Boneyard Tides written by Amo Jones which was published in April 9, 2023. You can read this before Boneyard Tides PDF EPUB full Download at the bottom. This is my first Amo Jones book and, despite reading the intro, I was still yelling at anyone who would listen, “I’m 30-50-80% into this book and STILL have no idea what is happening!” I love a good mystery but this one was too advanced for my Nancy Drew brain, I think. Once I got closer to the end and the paranormal and secret society elements came to light, I started making guesses. Then the plot-twist-filled ending came and now I’m shocked and even more confused as I hang off the cliff she leaves us on. All that being said, now that I’ve finished, I love it and am adding Amo’s backlog to my TBR. The spice had me fanning myself, especially since I love sharing scenes, and the multiple POV’s helped cancel out my original thoughts (manic episode) and give more clues as to what may be happening. Most of the book played in my head like a movie, mostly due to all the flashback scenes, which was a fun experience for someone who doesn’t visualize well. My biggest problem now is I don’t know how I’m supposed to wait until September to find out what happens next.

Brief Summary of the Book

The problem with Amo’s writing is that a little more structure with the formatting and everything would flow 10x better. There was multiple times where a new scene starts mid-chapter and confused the heck out of me. I usually have to go back and re-read to make sure I didn’t miss anything. If Amo added a page break or even symbols to break off the scenes, it would read so much easier. Not going to lie, I stuck with it simply because I wanted to know if it got better. It did, I would say around 60% is the turning point. It’s where things start to kind of click, and you can kind of piece together what she’s trying(keyword) to portray. It’s not a spicy as everyone usually expects from the author… at least from what I’ve heard. I haven’t read much from Amo and this is the first time I wasn’t left frustrated with the writing style and/or storyline.
